I haven't read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, but I know what happens, and I am gonna try to hold off on reading the book until I see the movie this November. One thing I am really looking forward to seeing is how Snow is given that choice as a young man, to fight for love and family or to fight for power and prestige. And 9 times out of 10, when characters are given that choice, they choose love and family. Snow chooses power. And I think that is going to be fascinating to watch because it's so rare in mainstream media.
“The show’s not over until the mockingjay sings.”
Redraw of my old Lucy Gray drawing except this time I didn’t misquote her!
“What if we could let go of the binaries of good or bad, beautiful or ugly when talking about feelings?
What if we could see all feelings as necessary arrows, pointing us towards needs that are met or unmet?
What if we looked like the hard, messy, so-called ugly feelings with curiosity and compassion, rather than repressing them out of shame?”
We in the West can facilitate a quick end to all this by withdrawing support for Israel. No more funding, no more arms transfers, no more impunity. Western states have stoked the fires of war with no regard for the human cost and are now seeing what bitter fruit they have reaped.
"24 massacres in 24 hours"
This is how Palestinians are describing today (October 23) in Gaza
The death toll had passed 5000 including 2000 children
Five thousand murdered in two weeks
1200 of which are unaccounted for under the entire residential buildings that have been flattened
This is not normal
We cannot get used to these numbers
This is horrific and we need to keep advocating and holding israel accountable for this and call it what it is: genocide.
Read, share, boycott, amplify Gazan voices - do whatever you can but don't ignore this now that you know.
